A lovely store named for a lovely lady from rural Alabama
Luticia Clementine Robertson was mother to 8 and grandmother to 36 and boy did we have fun at family gatherings near my uncle’s sawmill in Clay County, Alabama. At her feet we all learned of forgiveness and grace and truth, from which we dared not stray. Her strength, drawn only from our creator, saw her through those years that were tough for many. Some of us can only imagine life during war and depression but she and many like her, drew on the only real source of strength and light and came out victorious.
My mother, Geneva Turner (age 90), carries on that tradition and writes of those times; her favorites are the things "Mamma Said." Those are the things that make up this little shop.
Still a lady, she (and I) hauled coal in the coal bucket to heat her tiny house, where the door was always open and generosity ruled. I can only hope to share a tiny bit of her hospitality and creativity as the "lady" of this house. It is my hope that you feel her charm and grace and note her source of strength.
For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men. Titus 2:11
